| Snowstorm in Chicago |

As I am strolling to a lecture about computing education in Africa and South America I stop to step outside and catch some snowflakes on my tongue. We are so lucky and naive; the wall of snow blasts me in the face like a thousand white needles, the cold waking me from within. I step back inside and cradle my cup of complimentary starbucks coffee and sip mediocrity, remembering that an environment-destroying jet will return me to San Francisco this afternoon, where the rain is tepid and the coffee is sustainable. | Nerd herd, ya heard? |
[friday 27.03.09|11:46am] |
Pycon is fun and nerdy. This morning I learned to compile python snippets in place, inject them into namespaces and decompile them; this afternoon I'm looking forward to an AI lecture. The Internet is overlogged and dhcp leases are hard to come by. Give it a few hours, and people will be poisoning existing leases to get an IP -youch! Posted via email from Philipp's posterous

| Terrible roads at dawn, leaving la |

One of the things that fascinates me about the rampant anti-socialist sentiment in la as well as Alabama is the state of the roads. Tremendous property taxes are paid, but instead of fixing the roads in Beverly Hills everyone just buys bigger cars to solve the problem for themselves. Posted via email from Philipp's posterous
